Cody Simpson tore it up on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars, performing the cha cha ha to Ke$ha's "Timber" with pro dance partner Witney Carson. The couple scored a 22 out of 30, not bad for premiere week, but would Cody ever up the ante by dancing to one of his own songs?

"It was cool," says Cody. "I had her and my grandparents from Australia here, my whole family. It was cool to have all of my loved ones here supporting me. It was a great time. They all support me more than I could ever hope for. We had an awesome time. It’s nice to get the first week out of the way and get into the swing of things a little bit."

Catch Cody and Witney shake things up on the next episode of Dancing with the Stars when it airs Monday at 8/7c on ABC.
