Could 'American Idol' Winner Be Determined by Number of Twitter Followers?

This year's American Idol contestants have been allowed to have their own Twitter accounts, but will the number of followers they each have determine how popular they actually are?

The New York Post made a list of the American Idol contestants and the number of Twitter followers each one has, and there seems to be a correlation to how they've been doing in the competition.
Casey Abrams has the highest number of followers on Twitter, while wild-card spot winner Naima Adedapo has the lowest.
But Pia Toscano is more toward the middle, and Ashthon Jones, who was voted off last week, has even fewer followers than Naima.
If there is a correlation, then you'll know who you need to vote for more.
