When it comes to breaking up over emails, Facebook and text messages, Steve Carell thinks this generation has got it all wrong.

The Crazy, Stupid, Love star told Princeton grads yesterday that romantic rejection is good for you. According to the New York Post, he indicated face-to-face rejection provides "the humiliation and self-loathing a young man or woman needs for growth."

Steve added, "My point is, I suffered, and you should have to suffer, too."
At the pre-commencement ceremony, The Office star also dished some practical advice: “Show up on time, because to be late is to show disrespect." Then he added, “Get a dog, because cats are lame. And every once in a while, do something positive in the world.”
