"The producers are mixing it up a little bit," says Maks' younger brother Val, whose celeb partner this season is Zendaya. "In all of the numbers it starts off with another pro couple starting the number off for about 30 seconds, then we dance together for about 15 seconds and then we finish the dance for about a minute and a half. So we have a little thing going with Maks and Anna (Trebunskaya) coming in to help me out."

But what about those rumors that Maks was done with the show for good?
"He’d love to come back," insists Val. "He genuinely would love to come back. He’s not only dancing with me, he’s also dancing with Jacoby (Jones) and Karina (Smirnoff) as well, assisting them. It’s a pleasure for him to be back. The show is not about Maks and the producers or whatever people think that relationship is about. It’s about Maks’ relationship with his fans, and you only realize after you lose that avenue to speak to them. You realize, what about the fans? How are they going to see me? How am I going to be able to continue to perform for them. So this is going to be a great opportunity."

And if you're wondering how it will play out with Maks and Karina on the dancefloor together again after their nasty split, Val promises it's all in the past.
"It’s the same thing with Zendaya and I, the whole thing about how she’s 16 and how do you do these passionate dances," he explains. "I’m passionate about dance. And she’s passionate about dance. When we dance together we love it. The same thing with them. They were engaged and it was a terrible breakup and there were terrible feelings towards each other, but that’s water under the bridge. That was a long time ago and this is bigger than that."
