Details Emerge in Lara Logan's Egypt Assault

New details have emerged regarding the assault of CBS reporter, Lara Logan, that reportedly took place almost two weeks ago in Egypt. Lara was reportedly stripped and beaten with poles in Cairo's Tahrir Square.

According to The New York Post, new reports reportedly reveal that the 39-year-old CBS reporter was not only whipped by makeshift flagpoles but also kicked, punched, pinched and pulled by her hair during the celebration of the downfall of Hosni Mubarak.

The Times of London reports (via NYP) a crowd of about 200 people chanted "Jew, Jew, Jew" at Lara, even though she is not Jewish, and accused her of being a spy.

South Africa's Independent Online reports that Lara told relative in her native Durban, South Africa of her "darkest nightmare" reportedly saying, "The attack was so sudden, I had no chance of escaping."

Fortunately, Lara reportedly told colleagues a group of Egyptian women protected her from being raped by throwing themselves on top of her.

Twenty soldiers then escorted her to the Four Seasons hotel where she was staying.

Lara then returned to the United States and spent five days at a hospital in New York before returning to her Washington, D.C. home.

A CBS News source (via NYP) says "It may be a while" before Lara returns to work, explaining, "Psychologically, obviously, she is suffering from this."
