You’ve heard it before, but it’s kind of the truth. The holiday season in New York City has a rep for being magical. The big Thanksgiving parade, ice skating at Rockefeller Center, and gazing at the production that is department store holiday windows while ear-pleasing tunes from the Fifth Harmony ladies play in the background. Think we made up that last part? No, that really happened.

The Fifth Harmony girls, previous X Factor stars who are on their way to big things, showed up at NYC’s own Lord and Taylor and put on a performance for the big window unveiling. We caught up with the bubbly and super witty girls and talked holiday shopping, thanksgiving plans, and of course, pop culture.

OK! Magazine: So how do you guys feel about performing at the unveiling?
We’re really, really excited. I don’t think any of us have been in New York for the holidays. We’re really excited to see the window unveiling.

OK!: So we’re all ready to start holiday shopping. Which one of you is the biggest shopper?
Fifth Harmony:
Dinah: I’m the biggest thrift shopper. I like the sales—I like sales shopping.

OK!: What are you most excited to get or give this year?
I love buying presents for my friends. I just recently started doing it because before I didn’t have any money ever. Now that I have money, I like picking things out for each individual friend that would make them really happy.

OK!: If you had to buy a Secret Santa present for one of the girls in the group, what would it be?
I would buy her something that’s pumpkin.
Fifth Harmony: Who is it?
Normani: You have to guess who it is?
Fifth Harmony: Ally!

OK!: Are you obsessed with pumpkin?
I love pumpkin, but I like holiday scents. Winter is my favorite, so cinnamon, apple—love it!

OK!: Do you have a go-to Starbucks drink?
Pumpkin Spice Latte—so good! And then obviously hot chocolate.

OK!: Do you have a favorite Christmas song cover?
I love Mariah Carey.
Ally: Either “Noel” by Josh Groban or “Home for Christmas” by Amy Grant.
Normani: Christina Aguilera’s Christmas album! That’s all that plays on loop.

OK!: Camila, you said Justin Bieber. Do you have a favorite?
: Yeah. His Christmas album—the whole thing.

OK!: Why should people buy your EP for a holiday gift?
Camila: It’s $4.74.
Fifth Harmony: [Laughs]
Normai: It’s cheap, but pretty valuable, you know?
Camila: We co-wrote on it. We worked really, really hard on it. It reflects all of our eclectic taste in music.

OK!: Do you have some tips for holiday shopping with your best friends?
You should know what they like.
Lauren: If anything, you should subtly hint it. If you really don’t know what to get them, say, “Hey, I’m so excited that it’s Christmas. What do you think you want to get. I know I want to get this.”

OK!: What are you most thankful for in pop culture this year?
Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance [laughs]
Camila: I’m thankful for Macklemore with his songs about equal rights. I think he stands up for what he believes in—and “Thrift Shop.”

OK!: What’s a weird food that you eat on Thanksgiving that’s still really good?
Is fried turkey weird? No, that’s pretty normal.
Dinah: It’s kind of like bread pudding, but better. You put it in the oven. You cut up the bread. You pour the milk—I’ll say leche for you, [Lauren]—on top. It comes out and is super warm and soft and fluffy.

OK!: Are you going to any holiday parties?
Fifth Harmony:
We’re going to the AMAs. We’re going to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade. We’re on the Goldfish float!
