One of the biggest celebrity breakups came at the end of 2011 — Katy Perry and Russell Brand. While promoting Nivea's NYE celebration in NYC, entertainment expert Giuliana Rancic gave her thoughts to OK! on the demise of the famous couple.

"Can you believe that? Katy Perry, Russell Brand O-V-E-R," Giuliana told OK!. "Well I wish I could say I was shocked, but we kind of saw it coming."

"It’s sad," she did add. "There’s just tons of pressure in Hollywood because you’re apart a lot so unless you’re truly soul mates, it’s not easy to last in Hollywood."

Giuliana has a lot of experience being separated from her husband Bill Rancic, as the two lived in separate cities Los Angeles and Chicago for most of their relationship. "I think with Bill and I, we got lucky because we’re soul mates, so I don’t care how much time goes by. I mean we’ve lived in two separate cities most of our marriage and relationship," she explained. "I don’t care what happens to us, distance or whatever is the case, we’re always going to stay together and come out on top because we have that foundation, a strong foundation."
