Darren Criss sounds pretty psyched about the upcoming season of Glee

As he looks forward to conflict between Blaine and Kurt, he told The Hollywood Reporter, "Challenge is good for any relationship. So whether or not it ultimately is staying together or staying apart, I think it's good for both of them to have some kind of medium factor in their lives."

Plus, his character will deal with challenges of life after high school. He added, "They're kind of verging on an old married couple path right now."

So, what's it like being back in the choir room after Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, and Naya Rivera's characters have graduated? He mentioned "it's different energy," but, "We're just happy to still be there."

In addition to the changing cast, he dropped some hints as to the playlist for the upcoming season. Will we hear Carly Rae Jepsen's monster hit, "Call Me Maybe," in the mix?

"There will be some songs that feel like this is not a surprise at all," he noted. "Just do the math — popular summer songs, and then you hear them and you're like, 'Oh, yeah, this really isn't shocking.'"
