You don't have to be a partner or employee of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce to know that Christina Hendricks is a woman with poise, excellence, and a gorgeous head of red, curly hair. She's the Hollywood beauty that's taken our breath away with her sweet voice, curvy killer bod, and affinity for jewel-toned dresses.
Today, and only a day later than the handsome David Beckham, Christina turns 38-years-old. The girl has a lot going on. She's the face and voice of the new Johnnie Walker ads. And seeing her in an actual ad for whiskey and not just sitting around a roundtable talking about baked beans, ketchup, and Hawaiian getaways is the kind of biz we've been waiting to see.
Want to join us for a list of why we love this girl? Grab a cocktail that reminds you of Christina and Mad Men, (it's only appropriate considering her recent work) like this No. 11 vanilla bean bourbon treat from Whitehall Bar + Kitchen in New York City. Want to know how to make it? Mix 1 dash of angostura bitters, 1 barspoon of tart cherry syrup, and 2 oz. vanilla bean-infused bourbon. Stir the concoction and strain into an glass with ice cubes. Finish it off with a little pizzazz, which could only be 3 brandied cherries.
Now that you've added a Mad Men and Christina inspired drink to your repertoire, read through this list of why we are all tipping our hats to the lovely lady!
Her Pretty Hair!
Did you know that it's actually not her au natural color? She told Conan O'Brien last year. We loved that she was brave enough to dye her hair at such a young age. Not many would do it!
Christina Hendricks looks breathtaking in mid-lengthed skirts and dresses. We love that, despite her bright hair shade, she can doesn't steer away from hues that are just as eye-catching. She can rock a black frock, but isn't life a little more fun with some color in your wardrobe?
The Mad Men Attitude
Joan's quick remarks and tell-all facial expressions steal the spotlight. Peggy and Joan actually became a tad bit chummy, which was a surprise for all of us here! Now only if she would get back with Roger...
Hollywood's actors and actresses have a great influence in our lives. When they love what they do, well, that's even better. She told the ladies on The View that Mad Men is her "dream job." We love it too, Christina.
