While a report claims that the MTV hit reality show the Hills may not really be in its final season after all, the network assures fans that the upcoming 12 episodes will be the series’ last.
“This is truly the last of the Hills because we want the season to go out on a high note that the show deserves and that the fans deserve,” Tony DiSanto, MTV’s President of Programming and Development, revealed to Gossip Cop.
KRISTIN AND AUDRINA ARE SHOPPING SHOE-INS
“This season delivers the drama, the story and the organic culmination of the story,” the executive continued about the dramatic series.
Originally, a report claimed that there could be a possibility of extending the final season a little bit longer as one of the show’s starlets spoke to E! Online.
THE HILLS SAY GOODBYE AFTER 12 FINAL EPISODES
"There's a possibility of them ordering 12 more episodes…"I would like to do it. I'm in such a rhythm with things and I'm having a great time. We're just now starting to get into some really good juicy stuff with a few new people. So I think we could do another 12 episodes and make it pretty good,” Kristin Cavallari gushed of a possible 24 episodes.

Regardless, Kristen and the rest of her cast mates, including Audrina Patridge, Lauren Bosworth, Spencer Pratt, and Heidi Montag will be saying farewell after the initially slated 12 episodes beginning to air on Tuesday.
