Idina Menzel on Playing Lea Michele's Mom: How About Older Sister?

Broadway star Idina Menzel chatted with Entertainment Tonight about her guest role on the hit show Glee and the rumors she'll be playing Lea Michele's mom!

Idina, who's starred in Wicked and Rent, will be appearing on Glee, but whether she's playing Rachel Berry's mom is still a secret!

"When they say I look like her, I take that as a compliment,” Idina tells Entertainment Tonight. “When they say I could play her mother, I'm not so sure. Now her older sister… But I'll take what I can take.”

Mom, sister or maybe just a friend, Idina does confirm she will be singing Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" with Lea.

Both Idina and her husband Taye Diggs are huge fans of the show.

"It's just so great that television has embraced a musical," she says. "Music is the universal language and the show celebrates that."

"My husband and I Tivo Glee," she adds. "We were jealous we weren’t on it!”

And who knows, Taye may make an appearance some day too!

“He's a great song-and-dance man," she says. "Not everybody knows that."

So what can we expect from her shining moment? A make out scene with Matthew Morrison.

"Making out may be a little nice, mauling him is more the word."
