Is Cher Nervous About Guest Judging Dancing with the Stars?

Tonight Cher will fill in for Len Goodman as a guest judge on Dancing with the Stars, and believe it or not, the Hollywood icon is actually nervous about the gig.

"I’m so not qualified to be judging on a technical basis because I don’t really anything about ballroom dancing," Cher told reporters in a conference call on Friday. "I don’t want anyone to not have all of the breaks they would have with someone (judging) with expertise. That’s a little frightening. I was talking to Chaz (her son and former DWTS contestant) about that and I have a huge notebook they gave me. I know that people take this seriously."

Thankfully Chaz, who has been vocal about how much he enjoyed his DWTS experience, told his mom he'd give her a crash course on the show.

"The thing is I don’t like to do anything half way or at half measures," says Cher. "I was even nervous when I did The Voice and then I realized I was absolutely more than able to do that even though it was unbelievably hard work. But I’m actually nervous about this because I have enjoyed ballroom dancing. I’ve seen it on television. I saw it a lot when I lived in England and I enjoyed it. And actually my uncle and my aunt were ballroom dancers but I don’t know how you judge it and that makes me feel a little bit frightened. I don’t want to do anything that would hurt anyone in any way."

While Len generally doesn't hold back with his critiques, don't expect any sharp-tongued jabs from Cher towards the contestants. That's not what she's about.

"I’m not that kind of person," she says. "I’m just not. I don’t know if you saw me on The Voice but I don’t come from that place. If you’re a professional I come from that place but if you’re not, I don’t. And I don’t even know enough, but I would never come from that place anyway because I was there when Chaz was doing it and saw how difficult it was. I don’t even think I could do a proper job of it."
