Hey, if a song titled “Heartbreaker” wasn’t about a breakup, that’d be weird. So yes, Justin Bieber‘s new song that got released last night at midnight is clearly an ode to his relationship with Selena Gomez. Because as every pop music fans knows, the dissolution of relationships makes for the best music, duh.

Bieber has been teasing new music for months now, telling his fans this summer that October was when we’d get to hear it, and he kept his promise, guys. This song is definitely a bit of a departure from other Biebs stuff and to me it feels way more R&B than it does pop. Anyone else hear some Drake and/or Boyz II Men-ish undertones in this song? Like, that this is the kinda song you’d have playing in your apartment when you’re trying to get someone in bed with you? Here it is so take a listen:

“Heartbreaker” is the first of 10 new songs we’ll be getting consecutively from the Biebs, so if this song isn’t your cup of tea there’s always 9 more #MusicMondays to look forward to! Think all the tracks will be about Selena? BTW, here’s the lyrics from the first verse of “Heartbreaker” to prove our point here:

OK! News: Which Artists Are on the Catching Fire Soundtrack?!

Girl you don’t know how I feel
Since you been away oh baby
Any chance that you could take my call?
If you got you today
You say that you don’t wanna talk but it’s cool
Been thinkin’ about you all day long, hopin you’ll pick up your phone
And I know that I don’t wanna lose your love oh baby, oh baby
Oh girl I got a secret place that we can go
Cuz I really wanna be alone
Baby nobody else gotta know
Just meet me later on the low
