After much anticipation, Jason Derulo's third album Talk Dirty is finally available to the masses and if you think the disc's title track is infectious (seriously, it doesn't leave my brain), then wait until you hear the rest. The singer, who is scheduled to perform a free concert Wednesday night as part of Universal CityWalk's Music Spotlight Series, chats with OK! about the strides he made on this album, collaborating with his girlfriend Jordin Sparks and what to expect from his live show.

OK!: What were you able to do on this album that you weren’t able to do on your last?
Jason Derulo: I think it’s more of a representation of who I am as a person. I love to have a good time. I made this album for selfish reasons. I was trying to get myself out of a rut so I wasn’t doing it for anyone else it was me just trying to get myself out of a dark place because of the injury I had. It wasn’t about writing a hit album, it wasn’t about writing a hit song, but it was about making myself feel good and in the end I got an album that you can get to know me better on. That’s what I’m excited about. A lot of people have heard the hit songs but who is Jason Derulo? You’ve got songs like “Marry Me,” “Vertigo,” “Stupid Love” to the party tracks like “Talk Dirty” and “Wiggle” and then the sexual side with “Kama Sutra.”

OK!: You have a ton of collaborations on this album, how did those come together?
JD: Everything happened organically. Like with the song “Wiggle” I was like, “It would be so dope if Snoop was on the track.” Then I saw him at the All-Star game and I was like, “I have this track I want you to hear, it’s called ‘Wiggle.’” He was like, “Oh, man, this is crazy. I’ll send it back to you within 48 hours.” It all happens differently. With “Vertigo” Jordin and I recorded about six songs because I wanted to make sure I had the right song for the album. When I wrote “Vertigo” I knew it was it. It’s just us and the piano so the emotion really comes to life.
OK!: What are you looking forward to most about performing at City Walk?
JD: I’ve been working on this album for some time now and it’s finally come out. I’m ready and anxious to get these songs out. I love these songs so much so I’m just ready to perform them.
