The man responsible for uploading the leaked photos of Hollywood celebs online says he is just doing his job.
In an interview with The Sun, Sergei Kholodovskii took credit for uploading nude images of stars like Kim Kardashian, KeKe Palmer and Jennifer Lawrence to a website that has been providing access to the pics. But the 28-year-old Russian computer programmer insists that he had no part in hacking the stars' iCloud accounts to access the images.
Kholodovskii uploaded the images to the site, which is hosted in Arizona, from his home in Samara, Russia. And despite the victims of the scandal calling his actions an invasion of privacy, Kholodovskii says he isn’t concerned about their anger.
“I don't know the names, I am not quite interested who these people are, actresses or models,” he told The Sun. “To tell the truth, this is just a job for me. I wish they were cars. I like cars more.”
He added that he thinks the nude photos are being released by the celeb's teams, and they should be thankful for the exposure his site provides. "There are many celebrities nobody was aware of before, and now everyone is talking about them,” Kholodovskii said.
According to Kholodovskii, the site used to post the images is owned by his partner, a Russian man that now lives in Europe. He says he is paid for “hosting and all technical matters to do with the running of this site.” He told the paper that he has never met the site’s owner and doesn’t even know the owner’s real name. He said he isn’t paid much and the site is just one of many he works on.
The FBI has launched an investigation into the scandal that has affected over 100 celebrities, Radar Online reports. But Kholodovskii is adamant no illegal actions have been taken by uploading the images since he says the pictures were taken from other sources on the internet.
