Jessica Simpson Lands Pilot For Sitcom Based On Her Own Life

It's been a minute since Jessica Simpson has done any acting. Well she has been busy building a billion dollar empire, having a baby and being a mentor on Fashion Star.

But the 32-year-old bombshell is now set to return to television in a whole new role in the shape of her own sitcom.

The show will be based on Jessica's own eventful life, Deadline reports.

"We are thrilled to team up with the multitalented Jessica Simpson to bring this new sitcom to life on NBC as she is truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops," Electus chairman Ben Silverman said whose company will co-produce the show.

"From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud."

Jessica, who is pregnant with her second baby, says she is "so excited" for the project.

"I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life," she said in a statement.
