Lady Gaga has fans in an uproar over fears that something is wrong. "Going in for surgery now," she tweeted before her February 20 operation on her injured hip. "Thank you so much for sending me love and support. I will be dreaming of you."

The next day the 26-year-old singer, who is usually all over social media, sent a follow-up message—and then all but vanished.

"Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you've shared with me about your lives," the message read in part. "So I thought to myself, I'm alive, I'm living my dream, and this is just a bump in the road."

That was the last worried fans had heard from their idol—until now. Gaga's Little Monsters found out Mother Monster was at least alive thanks to a tweet from Dita Von Teese just after midnight on March 11. Dita had been in New York City for her burlesque show "Strip Strip Hooray!"
