As we totally predicted, after inserting his foot into his mouth, Mark Wahlberg issued an apology for the 9/11 statement he recently made. Although he was originally scheduled to be on one of the planes that crashed into the Twin Towers on that horrific day, the 40-year-old ended up issuing an apology to follow up from his comment about being able to save the day.

OK! NEWS: MARK WAHLBERG SAYS IF HE WAS ON 9/11 FLIGHT "IT WOULDN'T HAVE WENT DOWN LIKE IT DID" Here's what went down: In an interview with Men's Journal, he indicated, "If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first class cabin and then me saying, 'OK, we're going to land somewhere safely, don't worry."  Really? One of the 9/11 widows called his comments "disrespectful," as pointed out by BBC News. OK! NEWS: WHY DID MARK WAHLBERG CAST JUSTIN BIEBER IN HIS NEW BASKETBALL MOVIE? "INTUITION" SAYS MARK This unleashed a firestorm of comments that led to his apology. "To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive. It was certainly not my intention." What do you think about his apology? Heartfelt and sensitive or too little too late?
