Mel Gibson Makes Sweet Music for His Girlfriend

Though he's slightly embarrassed to admit it, Mel Gibson opened up to Extra about how he's been helping his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva with her music ventures.

The Oscar winner told Extra the he wrote the lyrics for two songs on Oksana's upcoming album — how sweet!

"I always felt the poetic urge coming, so I've been providing lyrics and stuff for a few of her songs," Mel said. "I've been writing poetry and stuff since I was a teenager. Didn't want to admit that to my friends."

Since Mel is helping Oksana with her album, she wants to help Mel with his next film.

"I'm scoring his next movie," she said. "I'll try to write songs, but it'll be mainly scoring. I'm sure I'll write a couple of songs. If he'd like that... that's great."

The two are so passionate about music that they used it towards their other passion and held a benefit concert in L.A. for the Chernobyl Children's Project International.

"They pay for operation and save children's lives," Oksana explained of the charity.

Her song "Angel" became a theme song for Chernobyl Children's Project International and Oksana is donating part of her album's proceeds to the organization.
