
Meryl Streep Unveils New Movie Poster for 'The Iron Lady'

Meryl Streep is stepping up the promotions for her upcoming film, The Iron Lady, and unveiled a giant new movie poster today in London.

The Academy Award-winning actress revealed her transformation into Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first female prime minister, for the role.
The Iron Lady is set for a Dec. 30 release in the U.S. and Jan. 6 in Britain.
According to The Associated Press, Margaret's family has shown some concerns about the film, but director Phyllida Lloyd said, "when they see Meryl's performance, they will understand how much care and attention to Lady Thatcher's dignity she's given."

And it sounds like Meryl really did put everything she had into this role.

"It took a lot out of me, but it was a privilege to play her, it really was," Meryl told the Daily Mail. "It was one of those rare, rare films where I was grateful to be an actor and grateful for the privilege of being able to look at a life deeply with empathy. There’s no greater joy."
