Michael Douglas will be joining the "Stand Up 2 Cancer" telethon following the announcement that he is battling stage 4 throat cancer.

A rep for Michael confirmed to Access Hollywood that the star will be participating in the telethon on Sept. 10.
The actor is currently undergoing cancer treatment and will be participating in the telethon from NYC as he is unable to travel.
Michael was diagnosed in August after doctors found a tumor in his throat.

Other stars joining Michael in the telethon include: George Clooney, Will Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lance Armstrong, Denzel Washington and Renée Zellweger.
The telethon will also feature performances by Queen Latifah, Stevie Wonder, Lady Antebellum and Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, plus more.

"Stand Up 2 Cancer" was also held in 2008 and raised more than $100 million for cancer research.
The telethon will be held from 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. ET on Sept. 10 on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX and other cable channels.
