"Louis has adjusted extremely well to his new environment," a friend of the actress tells OK!.
The child, adopted in January and introduced to the public on April 28, spent Mother's Day weekend in Sandra's arms in his hometown of New Orleans.

Sandra, Louis and friends visited A Gallery for Fine Photography on May 8, and Sandra shielded Louis in a baby carrier as they made their way around the French Quarter.

Sandra was also in contact with the children of her estranged husband Jesse James, including his 6-year-old daughter, Sunny.
"Sunny gave her a homemade card and they spoke briefly on the phone," says the friend. "Sandra obviously loves them very much."
