Dancing queen Carrie Ann Inaba struts her stuff in some colorful couture in the latest issue of OK!, but the Dancing With the Stars judge wasn’t always so fashionable.

“I went through this phase where I thought pink and purple matched,” Carrie Ann tells OK! of her biggest fashion faux pas. “To dance class, I’d wear purple tights and pink leg warmers and paint my shoes purple. It was really odd.”

These days, the 39-year-old has more refined tastes, opting for Bebe and BCBG clothing. Her biggest splurge? A Dolce & Gabbana dress.

“I didn’t know you could spend that kind of money!” she says. “It’s a dress that I could have forever. I thought, for once in my life I want to see what that feels like.”

Still, her favorite part of fashion is jewelry, noting Rhonda Faber Green as her go-to designer because “she’s got these really strong, bold pieces that have diamonds in them.”

Carrie Ann loves jewelry so much that she’s planning on launching her own gem collection.

“Actually, I’ve been in talks to develop a jewelry line,” she tells OK!.
