Jared Leto really knows how to let his hair down!
The actor posed in drag for the July cover of Candy magazine. Famed photographer—and Lady Gaga's bff—Terry Richardson, shot the fun photos of Jared, who is busy promoting his upcoming movie Dallas Buyers Club.

The film, also starring Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, features Jared as a transexual with AIDS. He reportedly shed over 30 pounds for the challenging role.

“Our body goes through weird stages. Sometimes it’s hard to hold on to water. But for me, it’s not about the most weight I can lose, it’s more to represent the character," Jared has explained. "Historically, people have done it for pursuit of self, to achieve a meditative state, so I’m hoping for that. It’s not necessarily a bad thing.”

Jared learned an important lesson while filming the flick in drag: Exploring his feminine side is far from easy. “Ladies, I feel your pain," he tweeted to fans. "What I have learned today: Beauty is pain. Wax on wax off,” he wrote.

Dallas Buyers Club, directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, arrives in theaters on December 6.
