Osama bin Laden's death launched a Twitter storm that actually broke a record on Sunday night for highest rate of "sustained" Tweeting... ever.

President Barack Obama's address announcing bin Laden's death interrupted regular TV programming last night and caught the attention of Twitter users.

According to Twitter (via The Hollywood Reporter), users sent out Tweets at an average rate of 3,440 Tweets per second, between 10:45 p.m. and 2:20 a.m. ET, during the news coverage of bin Laden's death.
