While some of our favorite actors, actresses, directors and movies got nominated for Academy Awards this morning, there are others who were completely snubbed!

Let's start with Hollywood's "it" guy, Ryan Gosling. He has been embraced this awards season so far, being nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, but Ryan failed to nab an Oscar nomination for his roles in The Ides of March — which was completely forgotten by the Academy — Drive and Crazy, Stupid, Love. A fellow actor joining Ryan on the snubbed list is J. Edgar's Leonardo DiCaprio, who has yet to win an Oscar despite being nominated three times for films What's Eating Gilbert Grape, The Aviator and Blood Diamond

In the leading actress category, two greats were shunned, including Young Adult star Charlize Theron, who has received high praise for her role in Diablo Cody's latest movie, and Tilda Swinton for We Need To Talk About Kevin, which didn't receive any nominations from the Academy. Also snubbed, Shailene Woodley, who definitely deserved to be recognized in the supporting actress category for playing George Clooney's rough-and-tumble daughter in The Descendants

Another Hollywood A-lister who didn't receive a nomination this year was Angelina Jolie, who wrote and directed the foreign language film, In the Land of Blood and Honey

As for surprises, comedic great Jonah Hill received a nod for his supporting role in Moneyball, as did funnygirl Melissa McCarthy for Bridesmaids. Both talented, but did they give Oscar-worthy performances? Not in our minds.

Also, only two tracks were nominated for original song, and they weren't written by Golden Globe winner Madonna or nominee Elton John. And did we mention The Tree of Life's three nominations? The movie's star, Brad Pitt, even thought it was "all but forgotten" this year!

Check out the full list of nominees and let us know who you think got snubbed!
