Party Down South: Murray Reveals the Crazy Thing Fans Are Doing to Meet Him

Party Down South has some intensely loyal fans, so loyal in fact they will go to some pretty stealthy lengths to meet the cast. OK! chats with Josh Murray (that's just Murray to you and me) about the fan encounters that have hit close to home (literally) and why it's good to have "old Daddy" back.

OK!: How hard is it to go back home after filming?
Josh Murray: Well when we get done we always say we’re going to go home and relax and calm down but when we get home and we’re alone for an hour we’re like, Man, we’re used to being around each other always in party mode. So for a month or two we just keep going and go out and visit our friends. They want to party with us. So it doesn’t slow down a whole lot when we get back.
OK!: Was there anything you learned about one of your housemates in season two that you didn’t know before?
JM: Yeah, I saw Daddy’s aggravated, mean side for the first time and I did not like that at all. I wanted my Happy Daddy back like he is now.
OK!: He’s back to normal?
JM: He’s back to Daddy, man. He’s fun-loving, easygoing, always putting a smile on everybody’s faces.

OK!: What’s the biggest obstacle that you’ve had to overcome in the house?
JM: With all the drama that went down last season it was kind of hard because people were like, I’m on their side or I’m on their side. There’s a couple of us trying to just let’s be a happy family all together. Let’s not choose sides. Let’s not split everything up. I mean we had several family meetings about it like, “This is not going to work. I can’t handle this.”

OK!: Have you had any weird encounters with fans?
JM: It’s kind of weird to me. In the small time where I live I’m the only Murray around so people will google where Louise, Mississippi is and they’ll come find my house. I sit under my carport every day and drink coffee and talk on Facebook and I have random people just pull up in my driveway. I’ve had people drive from three to five hours to come find my house and take a picture with me. It was weird at first because I was like, “Why are you here? Who are you in my driveway?” And now I’m used to it. Man, if anyone pulls up I’m like, “Come on, I’ll get you a Coke or something. Let’s sit here and talk about it for a while.”
OK!: The first time it happened it had to freak you out.
JM: It did. The first time it happened I was pushing my lawn mower in my yard and I had my headphones on and all of a sudden some chick walks up and taps me on the shoulder. I turned around and freaked out. Are you cops? What are you doing here? She was like, “Oh my God, it’s really you. Can we take a picture?” I’m pouring sweat. I look like hell mowing the grass. But once I realized what they wanted I was, "Come on, let’s do this."

OK!: Is there anything that has happened that you really wish would make it into some kind of lost footage episode or special?
JM: There’s a lot of stuff that went down with the chickens when we’d bring the chickens in the house. I had a chicken bite my privates which I thought was hilarious while it happened and that's stuff nobody will ever see. I think it would be hilarious to see some of that stuff just us messing with the chickens was the most fun part about having them.
