
People Really Like Charlie Sheen; 'Anger Management' Breaks Ratings Records

Winning! (Sorry, we had to.) Charlie Sheen is officially the king of the comeback! His new FX sitcom, Anger Management, has bragging rights as the most-watched scripted comedy series debut ever produced for primetime cable television. Ever. Ever!

The series debut garnered 5.5 million viewers, and the second episode which immediately followed snagged 5.7 million.

You know who else is winning? FX, who took a gamble on Charlie after his much-publicized "psychotic break" left him fired from Two and Half Men and feuding with show creator Chuck Lorre. FX also promised Charlie they would order 90 additional episodes of Anger Management, which is based on the 2003 movie starring Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler, if the show consistently hits certain numbers in the ratings.

Many are saying the show's writers better get to work! Although Charlie plays Jack's role in the TV adaptation, he is also basically playing himself — and it seems that people just really like Charlie Sheen, faults and all!
