NEWSRed Carpet Confidential: Heidi Klum Reveals Five Things To Anticipate on ‘Project Runway’ This Season

Heidi Klum couldn’t be more excited for the premiere of Project Runway, which airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
“I love that we are doing Project Runway teams this season,” the German-born supermodel, 39, tells me. “It really is a good test of which designers can work well with others, who’s a leader and who can get their voices heard in this new format.”
She adds, “We have some great challenges, including an unconventional one that actually mixes two favorites from past seasons. And I challenge the designers to make something very surprising for me — that’s all I can say.”
This season, viewers can look forward to guest judges including Kristin Davis, Miranda Lambert, Emmy Rossum, Rachel Roy, John Legend, Joan and Melissa Rivers, Bette Midler, Susan Sarandon and Jordana Brewster.
“I love our guest judges — Bette, Joan, Susan, a lot of the others. They all had great critiques and were fun to have join the panel.”

For Heidi, overseeing the show for eleven seasons has introduced her to new designers she may not have discovered otherwise.
“I do love wearing the Runway designers’ looks when it works out,” she says, naming off Christian Siriano, Anya, Daniel Vosovic and Mondo. “It’s great to support them when I can.”

Hm, what will the single mother of four, who is dating bodyguard Martin Kristen, wear this season?
“It’s a mix,” she explains. “Because it’s a show about fashion, I can’t wear jeans and a tee every episode. So it’s a lot of dresses, cool separates, jackets and sometimes looks from the guest designers. I wear a lot of leather this season, actually!”
