Not only is Kate Bosworth proud of the film she made that led her to her husband, Michael Polish, but she is also pleased to show off her braided look Monday during the Brooks Brothers and SK-II-sponsored premiere of Ketchup Entertainment’s Big Sur, held Monday at Sunshine Landmark Theater in NYC.
“You should get my hair,” the 30-year-old actress tells photographers, stopping four times on the red carpet so they can get pictures of her ‘do.
How did her look for the night come together?

“I showed him this dress, and what I love about designer Christopher Kane’s work is that there’s a romance to it, and something a little dangerous. We knew we wanted the hair off the shoulders, but not so sweet.”
Voila! When he was finished, Kate admired his work with an over-the-shoulder mirror check.
For Kate, wanting to look special for the movie premiere that led her to husband is only natural. The two began dating after filming Big Sur in 2011, got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot this past August.

“Michael was on board for this film to write it, adapt it and direct it, and he asked to meet,” Kate tells me.
He seems to have had an ongoing fascination with her.

“I’d done ten movies by this point in my career, and I knew Kate because there were times when I ran into her career going to a film festival and I always remembered going ‘this actress is making interesting choices,” Michael tells me. “I wonder how this is going to pan out, because it goes from Blue Crush to Wonderland. When I was adapting this, I said ‘I wonder what Kate Bosworth’s doing. I’d like to meet her.’”
Was there a specific moment when they knew they were meant to be?
“I didn’t even know him, really,” Kate says. “We’d spoken at a few events, and I went into my first big scene, and he gave me one adjustment, and I thought ‘ahhh, I hope I nail this, because that’s such a brilliant adjustment, I know I’m going to work with him forever, I don’t want to mess this up.’ Really.”
Michael adds, “I said ‘I’m going to marry that girl.’ I’m on the other side of the camera, and that’s going on.”
