This means he'll be on the show for its 12th and 13th seasons. Interestingly enough, despite the many changes among the judges — with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul leaving, Ellen DeGeneres' short-lived stint, and the additions of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez — one constant has remained since 2002: Ryan at the helm!
In a statement, Ryan indicated it's "a dream job," and added, "It's been a wild ride, and I'm excited for my journey with American Idol to continue." We're excited it will continue, too!
