Superman has left the building. Sam Jones III, an actor who played Clark Kent's BFF for the first three seasons of Smallville, has been sentenced to a year in jail. As for the reason? His role in a drug ring! Before the sentencing Sam plead to the judge for mercy that he already lost everything but as it turns out, he was ordered to prison for an entire year.

In court, Sam plead guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of the painkiller Oxycodone. The prosecutor, as reported by TMZ, wanted him to serve five years but he was actually sentenced to 366 days behind bars. The judge showed leniency as a result of Sam pleading mercy and indicated he was cutting the actor a break because of his minor role in the drug deal.
This prompted Sam to hit up his Twitter feed yesterday. He Tweeted, "Just got out of court! God is Great!! #FAITH!!!"
