The hottest party in town last night had to be the glittery soiree hosted by Sarah Jessica Parker for President Barack Obama and wife Michelle at her and hubby Matthew Broderick's NYC pad.

The intimate group of about 50 or so guests noshed for $40,000 a plate and raked in about $2 million for Obama's reelection campaign.

"You’re the tie-breaker,” the president said. “You’re the ultimate arbiter of which direction this country goes.”

So who were the bold faced names amongst the country's tie-breakers?

Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Meryl Streep, Bravo's Andy Cohen and Michael Kors, all donated for the cause and hung out with SJP's affable offspring, James Wilkie, who hung out during the dinner.

Never to outwear a welcome, Barack and Michelle quickly jetted off to a second fundraiser, this time with 250 guests and an estimated $2.5 million earned, complete with musical performances by both Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys.

While impressive, both parties pale in comparison to the mega event thrown by George Clooney last month with guests like girlfriend Stacy Keibler, Tobey Maguire, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr., Salma Hayek and Barbara Streisand, which netted the campaign a very generous $15 million.
