Sean Avery Cleared in Battery Charges

NHL player Sean Avery just dodged a bullet. Or in this case, a hockey puck. He will not face charges after his recent arrest from allegedly shoving a policeman.

A law enforcement told TMZ, "No criminal charges of any kind will be filed against Sean Avery stemming from his August 5 arrest for battery on a police officer."
Two weeks ago a noise complaint was filed against Sean. When cops arrived at his front door, he shoved an officer and shut the door. Well, after researching this case further, according to law enforcement sources it turns out an officer wasn't pushed after all.

Here's the scoop: The officer who filed the battery report caught his very own foot in the New York Ranger's front door! Considering witnesses have also attested to this story, the cops decided to not charge Sean.

It looks like an informal meeting will occur with the L.A. City Attorney who will probably officially close the case without any charges at all.
