Latin superstar Shakira has officially confirmed that she is with child.
The 35-year-old made the announcement on her Facebook page saying she and Spanish footballer boyfriend Gerard Pique were thrilled to be expecting a baby.

"As some of you know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!" the Hips Don't Lie singer wrote.
"At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days."
Shakira then apologized to fans attending this weekend's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas saying she would not be able to be there now.

The music superstar has been dating Gerard, who is 10 years her junior, for nearly two years but only confirmed they were dating last year by posting a picture of them together with the caption, "I present to you my sunshine."

Shakira recently signed on to be a coach on Season 4 of The Voice to replace Christina Aguilera who is currently on screen as a mentor on Season 3. Usher will also replace Cee Lo Green in the line-up shift.
