In June, Shia LaBeouf was arrested for multiple charges after disrupting Act 1 of “Cabaret” on Broadway. Just before the arrest, LaBeouf was spotted chasing after a homeless man on New York City streets.
So what really happened on that crazy Thursday night? LaBeouf explained the story on Jimmy Kimmel Live—and it's hysterical!
Kimmel kicked off the conversation with, “you seem to have gone crazy since the last time I saw you.”
The Lawless actor then explained that he just arrived from Ireland, where he had been “drinking a lot of whiskey.” He continued to drink when he got to a New York City bar to watch a World Cup game.

“I go outside, I have a cigarette and there is this homeless man out there... I start talking to him and we're getting into a conversation,” the actor explained. “And then a woman comes up to me and starts taking pictures of me with her cell phone and it trips him out… I can’t really calm him down, he starts running down the road after 30 minutes of conversation so I start running after him.”
After being unable reach him, LaBeouf returned to the bar where he ran into another fan, a dancer for “Cabaret.”
LaBeouf added: "He says, 'What you doing tonight?' and I was like, 'Well, I'm looking to turn it up a bit, trying to have a good night here, I just got to New York’… He says, 'Why don't you come to my show, I'm a dancer in this Cabaret show.' And I say, ‘Cabaret? Yes Cabaret!’”
The Transformers star then explained that he continued to drink whiskey at the show—and he even smoked a cigarette inside!

“Out comes Alan Cumming… he’s smoking a cigarette… so I go, ‘oh it’s that kind of party, perfect!’ I wanna have a cigarette too. And then I see the guy who gave me the ticket and I’m like, ‘Hey! What’s going on pal!' And now everybody is looking at me.”
After thinking that Alan Cumming winked at him while on stage, LaBeouf explained that he grabbed the actor’s butt as he walked by him.
“I give him a slap on the ass because I think he deserves it. I slapped and grabbed him! I grabbed the whole cheek because I wanted the party right here in my pants,” he said.
