Once more, with feeling: Spoilers ahead! Do not read if you don't want to be spoiled (or giddy).

TVLine reports that new Smash showrunner, Josh Safran, has dropped a couple of bombshells on the cast of our beloved freakshow.

OK! NEWS: SMASH RECAP: AND TONIGHT, PLAYING THE ROLE OF MARILYN...

Ellis (Jaime Cepero) and Dev (Raza Jaffrey) will not be regulars in season 2. It is unclear whether or not either of them will return to wrap up their storylines at this time (presumably because they haven't decided yet).

A source tells OK! that Ellis first heard about his unfortunate fate while lurking around the hallways at NBC.

As we know, Ellis confessed bragged to Eileen (Anjelica Huston) about poisoning Rebecca Duvall (Uma Thurman) and Eileen awesomely fired him. He said, "You haven't seen the last of me!" or something like that, but it looks like we have. How embarrassing. We wouldn't mind if he came back for an episode just to have Eileen throw a drink in his face and see Nick (Thorsten Kaye) punch him out while he spittles.

As for Dev, he and Karen (Katharine McPhee) had an abridged break-up scene due to someone shouting "Karen Cartwright!" which is the new "Places!" to actors the world over. So, we wouldn't mind a more proper send-off for Dev since we felt bad for him most of the time. We'd like to see him run away to DC with RJ, get married and have a couple of responsible, attractive, book-liking children named DJ (Dev Jr) and JR (Junior Whatever the R in RJ stands for).

OK! NEWS: GOSSIP GIRL SHOWRUNNER TO TAKE OVER SMASH NEXT SEASON

TVLine further reports that Frank (Brian d'Arcy James) and Michael Swift (Will Chase) are also out. Gasp!

We weren't expecting that.

We hope Frank takes Leo (Emory Cohen) with him. Heck, we wouldn't mind if Michael Swift kidnapped Leo and held him for ransom to get Julia's attention, but she decides she doesn't care and abandons him, all Flowers-in-the-Attic style.

What do you think of these developments? Would you like to see any of these characters return to wrap up their stories?
