Nick Lachey is helping make it OK for all future dads out there to get in touch with their feminine side. His pregnant wife, Vanessa Lachey, says the former boy-bander has as much of a maternal instinct as she does.

"I've been a little consumed with work. But the interesting thing I've noticed is my husband is nesting," she told Parade magazine. "I always thought it was the woman but he's doing his little nesting part too. He saw this old table we have and he sanded it, then he stained it, put glass on it. He made us a desk! It was pretty incredible."
Anyone who's watched episodes of Nick's former reality show, The Newlyweds, with his ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, knows the man is made of patience. Vanessa assures us he's a fantastic roommate, too.
"He's a good Cincinnati, mid-western boy," she said. "He does the dishes, he does his laundry, and we share all the duties in the house. We realize it's a partnership. It's not 50-50. It's 100% on my end and 100% on his end."

Not that if he did leave his dirty socks out she'd disown him — Vanessa and Nick work on making their marriage as unbreakable as possible.
"I think the important thing is patience, communication, understanding, and knowing when you are wrong," she said. "We all react and say things but it's all about coming back and saying you're sorry. It's about knowing this is the person you will be married to for the rest of your life. There is nothing unforgivable, he is my partner, you know?"
