Vienna Girardi has opened up about the passionless relationship she shared with Jake Pavelka who rejected her in private, only to kiss and hug her in the full glare of the red carpet cameras.
Vienna says their sex life started to change after Jake went on a fast. “He went on a fast from meat, and he felt like it was a sin to be intimate. So, I said. ‘OK,’ and I respected that,” she tells Entertainment Tonight.
“But then the next time we were together it was just, ‘I don’t feel like it’ or ‘We fight too much’ or ‘You push me away.'” She adds, breaking down in tears, “As a woman, you need somebody who wants to kiss you and be intimate with you and hold you and want to be with you. It is not that hard.
“We had all that in the beginning and then it just went away. I kept thinking it was going to come back, and it never did.”
Vienna says she still believes Jake loved her. “I think he loved me… I don’t think he is happy.”
Vienna broke up with Jake by leaving him a note. “While he was gone I just thought about a lot of things,” she says. “I thought about how happy I was when he wasn’t there.
“I know that sounds horrible but it kind of made me realize that I wasn’t happy with him anymore. He wasn’t making me happy. He wasn’t even trying to make me happy.”
The bubbly blonde says things turned sour shortly after The Bachelor finale. “I think about a month into the relationship but I kept convincing myself otherwise.”
She adds: “I think he can be mean and I think he has a temper, but the whole thing was that he wasn’t in love with me. Why would you stay with someone if you weren’t in love with them?”
ET‘s Kevin Frazier answers: “Maybe because it’s for publicity?” To which she replies, “I want to convince myself that he’s better than that.”
But the darkest moment of their relationship occurred on Valentine’s Day when Vienna scattered a trail of rose petals leading into the bathroom, where Jake would find her reclining alluringly in the tub.
But when Jake arrived home, he ignored both the petals and the waiting Vienna. “He said he didn’t feel like it,” she shrugs. “I came in, I was soaking wet, and I asked ‘what have you been doing, why didn’t you come in?'”
A disinterested Jake just brushed off the petals she had also scattered on their bed and crawled between the sheets while Vienna lay there “bawling”.
