Haley Reinhart got off to a rough start last night on American Idol's "Now" and "Then" night with her performance of the unreleased Lady Gaga track "You and I." But Haley later "slayed" her performance of "House of the Rising Sun" and was crowned the "best performance of the night" by the judges!

The judges didn't have very good things to say about Haley's performance of Lady Gaga's song.
"Hi, baby. I love the way you sounded, especially at the end. You had some good moments within the song," Jennifer Lopez started after the performance. "I'm just not sure — even though it was a cool idea to do an unreleased Lady Gaga track — I'm just not sure that was the best advice that Jimmy gave you. At this point in the competition when you have Scotty and James coming out doing what they're doing, you just have to showcase yourself to the best you can every time with songs that people are really, really going to connect to and love."
"I just want you to do that because, again, you have such a great voice that I want you to come out and have that big moment every single time," J.Lo added. "You've given that before, so I know you can with some really, really great songs. For me, it would have been a better choice to choose something that everybody knew that really, really showcased you in a better way."
"I'm sorry, baby."

But things turned around after Haley "slayed" her "Then" performance of "House of the Rising Sun."
The judges even gave Haley a standing ovation!
"Yo. Dude," Randy Jackson said. "What I love about this show, where we are right now, is every week somebody has been coming out slaying it like they really want to win this. The award tonight for the best performance of the night goes to Haley!"
"Sweet and sour. Raspy," Steven Tyler added. "I can really relate to that and that really sells a song. I think you sold everybody tonight."
Jennifer said, "I don't know if you came out a little angry at us from before. Whatever that little emotion was in the beginning like, 'I don't care. I'm going to sing my butt off right now,' that song has never been sang like that before. Great job."
