Everyone knows the story of how President Abraham Lincoln was shot and killed while watching a play at the Ford Theater, by John Wilkes Booth. But there is so much more to the story, including the history of his co-conspirators. Robin Wright Penn stars as Mary Surratt, the mother of conspirator John Surratt in The Conspirator, directed by Robert Redford. Mary was accused of helping the men who allegedly plotted Lincoln's assassination. James McAvoy stars alongside her as one of the lawyers defending her in the wake of a nation's anger at the death of their beloved president.
