The highly-anticipated sequel to the hit comedy Zoolander is finally in the works after years of speculation, and rumors say that Lady Gaga is actor and producer Ben Stiller's first choice for his leading lady!

If she takes the role, Lady Gaga will join Ben, returning as male model Derek Zoolander, and Owen Wilson, reprising his role as Hansel McDonald.

The sequel will pick up where Zoolander left off almost a decade ago. Ben has been courting Mother Monster to play a former love interest who re-enters his life, and it seems like they want her pretty badly -- they offered her almost $5 million for the part!

"Gaga is top of their wish-list. She has the talent and attitude -- and an amazing sense of humor," a source told The Sun.

If Lady Gaga turns down the role, Kate Moss, Kate Upton, and Heidi Klum are all being courted to play Derek Zoolander's ex. The script, which Ben co-wrote with Justin Theroux, was completed in 2010 and is finally now getting off the ground.

We hope Lady Gaga is drinking orange mocha frappuccinos and working on her "walk-off" in preparation!
