Will Kevin Spacey Host The 2015 Oscars?

"Oh, you're just getting into the Spaceman?"
This was the response I got from my proclamation that I am totally, unequivocally obsessed with Kevin Spacey after he appeared on both the Oscars telecast and Jimmy Kimmel Live's post-show extravaganza—so apparently I'm a little late to the game. (Thanks to my brother, for that gem.)
As far as most of America knows, Kevin Spacey is a drama guy. He's won two Academy Awards of his own (for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty) and while he never really went away, he's going through a major resurgence thanks to a little-known Netflix Original Series called House of Cards. But PEOPLE! There is so much more to Kevin Spacey. One quick peek at his Wikipedia page will teach you that he's not as dark and scary as many of his acting roles would lead you to believe. Case in point: Before he made it big on the Big Screen, he was a comedian! A real, live stand-up comedian! And it seems like he's ready for the world to remember that—and possibly angling for Ellen DeGeneres' Oscar Host Gig. Not sure he could handle it? Here's a few reasons to prove you wrong:
1.) He ad-libbed to great affect when he took the stage to present at the Oscars last night—Watch him channel his creepy House of Cards character Frank Underwood on stage:

2.) He's not afraid to throw a little shade. As a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy referenced John Travolta's mouth diarrhea earlier in the night. Watch to see how Spacey hilariously responded (starts around 3:00 mark):

3.) He's really good at impressions! He gave us a taste of his take on Jack Lemmon & Johnny Carson:
4.) And speaking of Johnny Carson, he's got his own Carson-related viral video on his hands! At the mere mention of said video on JKL, he crashed his own website.
5.) He's not afraid to play along. See: Ellen's A-List selfie & that delicious pizza stunt.

6.) He does have Oscar-hosting dreams! When asked by Kimmel if he'd be interested in hosting the big show some day, he replied, "Oh, I think it'd be great fun. Sure!"
The Spaceman is officially back! Your move, Hugh Jackman.
Did you know Kevin Spacey started as a comic? Do you think he'd make a good Oscar host? Seriously though, how fantastic is his Carson impression? Sound off in the comments or tweet us @OKMagazine.
