'Skins' Actress Kathryn Prescott In ICU After Getting Hit By Cement Truck
Skins actress Kathryn Prescott has been hospitalized with multiple injuries after being hit by a cement truck in New York.
Her twin sister, Megan, shared the sad news on Instagram on Thursday, September 9.
"After fighting through complex surgery some of Kathryn’s injuries include: broken pelvis in two places, both of her legs, her foot and her left hand. She is incredibly lucky to be alive," Megan wrote. "She narrowly avoided paralysis. The doctors are hopeful that she will make a full recovery but this will only be possible with the correct care right now."
"She is alone in New York with no family members. I need help getting to New York to support her recovery. I will have to help her until she can start to walk again. I need to be there to help her with literally everything as she will be able to do incredibly little by herself. She will be in rehab for a very long time and will need 24/hr care even after she leaves the hospital," Megan explained.
Megan said that she applied to the U.S. Embassy for an exemption to enter the country to be with her sister, but she was denied. She asked her followers if anyone knew a way to appeal the decision. British citizens cannot enter the U.S. if they have been in the U.K. or other restricted countries within the previous 14 days due to COVID-19 restrictions.
"I don't know what to do with myself. I have to be able to get to my sister to care for her and right now I have no way of doing so. I know there is so much going on in the world right now but I am heartbroken that I can't be with my twin sister in this horrible time in her life when she desperately needs me—I don't want her to go through this alone," the 30-year-old lamented.

Megan later posted on her Instagram Story that she was not interested in flying to another country for two weeks to then enter the U.S. "She is in the f*****g ICU. I need to go NOW," she wrote.
She also asked that people do not try to contact her sister directly and said urgent queries should be sent to her instead. "She cannot be stressed right now and she will feel guilty if so many people have contacted her and she can't reply," Megan explained.
Fans and friends offered their support in the comments of Megan's post.
"This is so terrible!! I'm sending you guys love. I'm going to figure out how to help!" Kathryn's Dude costar Alexandra Shipp wrote.
"I'm so sorry to hear this Meg, if only I could do more to help," Skins costar April Pearson commented.
"We all here love you both and praying every second for her full recovery and health, things will be fine soon," one fan wrote.
