Close call! Alex Rodriguez was spotted visiting shops in St. Tropez with rumored new love interest Melanie Collins on Tuesday, July 27 — mere hours after his ex Jennifer Lopez paid a visit to the same stores.
A-Rod and Collins — who appeared to be rocking coordinating white ensembles — were seen enjoying their day on the French Rivera with pals Eric Decker and Jesse James Decker, where they visited the Chanel store and snacked on ice cream. Luckily, they avoided an awkward run-in with the businessman's ex-fiancée, 52, and Ben Affleck, who are also in the area.
The former Yankee slugger and his new lady were first spotted together earlier in July enjoying a fabulous getaway. At the time, however, a source told Page Six, “They’re friends. He’s on vacation. He’s single and having fun.”
According to the outlet, the possible new couple met each other through the Deckers. “Alex has been hanging with friends and family on the trip, including Eric and Jessie James Decker. Melanie is good friends with them,” the source stated. “They’re all friends.”

The sports reporter, 35, even reportedly attended the former baseball player's 46th birthday party in Monte Carlo with the Deckers.
A-Rod's new love interest could be a big departure from what the businessman originally had in mind as a rebound. As OK! previously reported, Rodriquez allegedly wanted to get back into the dating game with an "A-List actress" following his split with the "Jenny From The Block" singer.
“Alex is the most competitive person you will ever meet," a source told Radar. "His ego was bruised when Jennifer dumped him, however, when she got back together with Ben Affleck, Alex’s ego was destroyed."
"There is no way we will see Alex dating again until he finds himself an A-list actress with an Oscar," the source added.
