Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are over the moon now that they’ve decided to take their rekindled romance to the altar, but an insider tells OK! they’re not seeing eye to eye when it comes to the big day details.
“They have very different ideas about what kind of wedding they should have,” notes the insider. While the Marry Me star, 52, envisions an elaborate, star-studded celebration — think: 300 guests, a lavish reception with a sit-down meal and entertainment — Affleck, 49, “doesn’t want a major event,” the insider shares.
“And this time around, he’s pushing to be super-involved in the planning, which has become something of a headache for Jen," points out the source. "Word is, Ben’s behaving like a groomzilla!”
According to the insider, the Tender Bar actor has already drawn up a list of requests. “He’d love something on the smaller side, with just family and close friends,” confides the insider.

“He says Jen can still design the color scheme and choose the flower arrangements — and, of course, any dress she wants — but he’d like to have the final say in the food and music, including their first dance,” the insider continues. “Jen isn’t used to being flexible and not running the show. But she’s learned from her mistakes too. She’s conceding this time so he can feel comfortable as they plan their future together.”
J.Lo announced she and Affleck will be planning their forever life together earlier this month when she revealed the Hollywood star proposed to her — again! As OK! reported, Bennifer was initially engaged back in 2002 but postponed their 2003 nuptials due to the media frenzy surrounding their relationship before calling it quits several months later.
Ever since the power couple reconciled in April 2021 — shortly after the global pop star ended her engagement to Alex Rodriguez — they've been doing things differently this time around. OK! reported Affleck and Lopez had a power control problem during their first go at love, with the songstress previously being "passive" in their relationship, but that has certainly changed.
The mother-of-two has "come into her power" after several failed relationships, including the downfall of her marriage to ex-husband Marc Anthony, with whom she shares boy and girl twins. "This time, things are different," an insider maintained of Bennifer 2.0.
