Britney Spears Was 'Taken Aback' By Sam Asghari's Proposal, Personal Trainer Had 'Lioness' Engraved In Engagement Ring
Britney Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari pulled out all the stops for their engagement.
The “Toxic” singer announced the exciting news on Sunday, September 12, with an Instagram video writing, “I can’t f**king believe it,” as the caption.
Since then, new details of the proposal have been spilled.
“Sam has been dying to propose to Britney and knew this was finally the right time,” a source told E! News. “They are so happy to be able to be able to share this new chapter together.”
Although the pair have been dating for five years, the source revealed that Spears was still shocked when her longtime beau got down on one knee at her home in Los Angeles, California.
“They have been talking about getting engaged for a while now and Sam totally threw her off today at her house,” the source said. "She was so taken back, she screamed."
Asghari reportedly worked with Roman Malayev – founder of Forever Diamonds — to design a special ring for his wife-to-be.

The 4-carat round-cut diamond in a platinum cathedral setting also featured the word “Lioness” engraved inside the band to represent his nickname for the “Circus” artist.
“It was very private and romantic, everything she wanted,” the source said. “Britney has told Sam that he is her soulmate and that she is so grateful to have him, especially during these hard times.”
Spears has been dealing with an ongoing legal battle to end the “abusive” 13-year long conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears.
However, Jamie filed a petition to end the conservatorship just last week, a milestone her lawyer called a “massive legal victory” — so things may be looking up for the pop superstar.
The happy couple have plenty to celebrate, and according to another E! source, they are spending some quality time together to gush over their romantic moment.
“They are celebrating at the house and enjoying this day together,” the source said, “Just the two of them.”
