Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika, gave her husband a final send-off in an emotional moment as she knelt beside his casket. Erika shared a video of herself with Charlie’s embalmed body before it was taken to its final resting spot.
While tears fell, Erika repeated, “I love you.” As a family rooted in faith, she added, “God bless you.”

Erika Kirk held her husband's hand one last time before he was laid to rest.
Erika captioned her Instagram post with a tribute to her late husband, which reiterated the sentiment she spoke when she broke her silence on Friday, September 12, about his assassination.
“The world is evil. But our Savior. Our Lord. Our God. He...He is so good. I will never have the words. Ever,” she wrote. “The sound of this widow weeping echos throughout this world like a battle cry.”
Erika continued, “I have no idea what any of this means. But baby I know you do and so does our Lord. They have no idea what they just ignited within this wife. If they thought my husband’s mission was big now..you have no idea.”

Erika Kirk vowed to continue her husband's mission.
The mom-of-two went on by saying Charlie’s mission to keep the youth informed on the most prevalent and impactful topics will never stop, as she and his Turning Point USA team plan to carry on his legacy.
“You. All of you. Will never. Ever. Forget my husband @charliekirk1776 l’ll make sure of it,” Erika wrote. “Rest in the arms of our Lord baby as he blankets you with the words I know your heart always strived to hear.”

Charlie, a right-wing activist who poured his heart and intellect into his mission, was shot and killed in a targeted political assassination on Wednesday, September 10. He was in the middle of answering a question about mass shootings and the transgender community when a shooter fired a single shot at his neck. It was the first stop during his American Comeback Tour, where he planned to visit college campuses to debate with their students.
'Most of All, Charlie Loved His Children'

Charlie and Erika Kirk have two young children.
Charlie is survived by his wife and two young children, who Erika said during a speech on Friday night were the light of his life. “Most of all, Charlie loved his children, and he loved me with all of his heart,” she said. “My husband laid down his life for me, for our nation, for our children.”
Erika and Charlie welcomed their daughter in August 2022. In May 2024, the couple welcomed a second child, a son. The pair met in 2018 before Charlie asked Erika to marry him in 2020. They went on to tie the knot in May 2021, four years before his life was mercilessly cut short.
