Couple goals! John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh have kept their romance out of the spotlight since secretly tying the knot last October, but behind closed doors, the pair are still basking in newlywed bliss.
“John and Shay are totally simpatico and have this incredible dynamic between them,” spills a friend, who says the tech product manager, 31, is the perfect sounding board when it comes to her husband’s career.
The F9 star, 44, who recently revealed he’s “definitely” returning to the WWE after a long hiatus, “made his decision only after discussing it with Shay,” the pal tells OK!
“He trusts her judgment, and he’s happy to offer her advice whenever she needs it.”
Cena, who split from his ex-fiancée, Nikki Bella, in 2018, “is much happier living a more low-key life with Shay,” the pal adds. “They take turns cooking dinner and picking movies. Their love is easy and drama-free.” Now that’s a tag team!
“John defers to Shay whether it’s work or his social life,” spills a friend. “He values her opinion, and she always provides loving encouragement.”
Not only did the couple have a private wedding, but they were in a hurry to say 'I do'. As previously reported by OK!, Cena and Shariatzadeh waited only days after receiving their marriage license before getting married.
Following the month after their wedding, an OK! source added some insight as to why the adorable newlyweds had decided to get married so quickly after their engagement. Kids!
Cena is "ready to be a dad, and that's one of the reasons they rushed the wedding," the source spilled, regarding their plans for the future.
While there are no kids yet, it appears to be on the horizon for Cena and Shariatzadeh. Both have said they want "a big family".
