Hayden Panettiere's Boyfriend Brian Hickerson Spits at Cops After They're Called to Remove Him From Bar Barefoot in Wild 2025 Arrest Video

A shocking new video from Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend Brian Hickerson's August 2025 arrest showed the South Carolina native acting out and going barefoot while hunkered down under a table before cops apprehended him.

The incident occurred at West Hollywood dive bar Barney's Beanery, where a "barely conscious" Hickerson lay underneath a booth table with his feet sticking straight out from beneath it.

TMZ reported that the incident began after employees tried to force Hickerson from the bar when he allegedly broke a drinking glass and later removed his shoe and threw it at another patron.

Cops arrived after Hickerson refused to leave and put him on his feet, where he "forcefully" spat to his left. It's unclear if he was spitting to clear his mouth or had an intended target. Hickerson was ultimately removed from the building and arrested outside.

He was arrested again in Los Angeles that same month, but the case was dismissed after he attended 10 Narcotics Anonymous meetings, per TMZ.

His pattern of problematic behavior only continued as Hickerson – who has a known substance abuse problem – was reportedly banned from at least three Greenville-area bars in the two to three months before Panettiere's August 16 death.

Hickerson was with the Remember the Titans actress when she was found unresponsive in an apartment in South Carolina on August 16.

Though the Nashville star's cause of death is still pending, emergency services responded to a call around 1:52 p.m. regarding an "unidentified female" in "cardiac arrest" following a suspected overdose, 911 dispatch audio revealed.

First responders attempted life-saving measures on the scene, but she was pronounced dead less than an hour later. Narcan – a medication intended to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose – was found on a nearby mattress, though it's unclear who it was used on.

TMZ reported on August 19 that her "unexpected death" sparked a police investigation into possible criminal conduct. Police were later spotted at Hickerson's grandmother's home, which is five miles away from where Panettiere died.

After the DEA became involved in the investigation on August 20, her family released a statement: "There's nothing to be shared at this time as the investigation is ongoing, but we are hopeful that justice will be served," per ABC News.

Panettiere's estranged mom, Lesley Vogel, didn't hide her animosity toward Hickerson in her first public statement after her daughter's death, as he previously spent time in jail for abusing the actress.

"This person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death and that was Brian Hickerson," the talent manager told NBC News.

"I think Hayden was an amazingly talented person in so many departments," she continued. "I think young people who grow up in the entertainment industry — it is a struggle and it's a very challenging industry and it's not unusual for them to sadly find the wrong path."
